Nestled beneath the Blue Ridge Mountains of south-western Virginia in Patrick County is a beatutiful place known as Laurel Hills. This is the birthplace of J.E.B. Stuart. It is located just seven miles north of the city of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, less than a mile beyond the Virginia - North carolina border in Ararat, Virginia.

 

Visitors are welcomes during daylight hours, each day of the week. Information for a self guided tour is available near the entrasnce to the property.

 

Laurel Hill was placed on both the Virginia Landmarks Registry and the National Registry of Historic Places in 1998.
